Achievements
In 2015:
- 15 families benefited from Youth Conservation Corp projects
- 1,403 boat launch inspections occurred
- 8 residential properties and 2 commercial properties received LakeSmart evaluations and recommendations
- The “good neighbor” efforts of many lake dwellers aided others by retrieving boats, buoys and other possessions and the year-round removal of debris abandoned by fishermen. Lastly, the rescue of boaters in distress by concerned lake inhabitants’ benefited Oakland folks and beyond!
This spring, we are also keeping our eyes on the algae bloom that occurred after Labor Day 2015, and research results that show an alarmingly low level of oxygen in Salmon Lake. We will do our best to share that information as we learn more.
Perhaps even more important than these accomplishments, the Association can speak as one voice, representing the views and wishes of its members at all levels of government on issues affecting the lake and its surroundings.
Incidentally, we also have fun – at parties and meeting where you can form new friendships or renew old ones, glean the latest lowdown on topics from Variable Leaf Milfoil to Boat Inspections, vote on Association issues and activities, and even propose new ones. The newsletter and this website keep members informed between meetings. We do all this for modest annual dues.
We need everyone’s interest and involvement to protect the future of the lakes.
We are all Stewards of the Belgrade Lakes. Join. Learn. Lead.
